Do Magnetic Earrings Set Off Airport Security or Cause Problems in an MRI?
Airport security: almost never a problem. MRI: always take them off. The magnets in a magnetic earring are tiny, but an MRI scanner is not a metal detector and treats any ferromagnetic object as a hazard.

MRI
Remove magnetic earrings before an MRI, along with every other piece of jewelry. The scanner magnet is thousands of times stronger than the earring magnet; the earring can be pulled off the ear, heat up, or distort the image. Radiology staff will ask; take them off before you go in.
Pacemakers and implants
The earring magnet is far too weak to affect a pacemaker at chest distance, but manufacturers of implants publish their own guidance and it always wins over ours. Keep magnets away from the implant site and ask your doctor if in doubt.
